Can someone give me some advice about what to do about choosing a career?

I've recently graduated community college and started at a university and was planning to major in Secondary Education but realized that i truly didn't want to do that. So i took some time off to really think about what i wanted to do. I feel like i'm supposed to be a writer (novelist), but i know i can't really depend on that as a 'full time job'. I know i can be successful at writing eventually but for now i help deciding on what i should do as my right now job. Does anyone have any advice that could help? Thanks!
